Be Good to the Planet on Earth Week

The City of Coral Gables is celebrating Earth Week this April 14-22, culminating with Earth Day on Sunday, April 22. To highlight the importance of natural resource conservation and environmental preservation, you're invited to the following events:
• April 14-15, 11 a.m.: Watch the film "Landfill Harmonic" about an orchestra in Paraguay made up entirely of instruments made from trash. Coral Gables Art Cinema. Tickets are $5 and available here.

• April 17, 7 p.m.: Watch the environmental film "Racing Extinction" about the hidden world of endangered species. Coral Gables Art Cinema. Tickets are $8 and available here.

• April 21, 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. Drop off your hazardous waste and old electronics at the Coral Gables Household Hazardous Waste Collection at City Hall Parking Lot , 405 Biltmore Way. The event is free.

• Through April 30: Take the Wyland National Mayor's Challenge for Water Conservation and a chance to win great prizes. www.mywaterpledge.com.
